About me
I'm Nan, a digital illustrator based in the Canary Islands.
I've been studying art since childhood, progressing from art academies to the Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño Fernando Estévez, where I studied Intaglio Printmaking and Illustration. I'm currently continuing my artistic studies in my final year of the Bachelor of Arts degree at Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
I use illustration as a way to express an inner world that is fascinated by the fantastical things that live in our imagination; to escape the absurd reality of living surrounded by pollution instead of in a ruined castle in the middle of a forest shrouded in mist. I romanticize everyday life with stories that have captivated humanity for centuries, putting my own interpretations of them on paper, such as the relationship between vampires in the first decade of the 19th century or a lesbian interpretation of Dracula featuring Countess Dracula and Joanne Harker.
My illustrations have appeared in the "Ilustradoras & Ilustradas" projects, and I've participated in Artists Alley fairs in the Canary Islands and the rest of Spain. Some of the events I've participated in include Salón del Cómic de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Japan Weekend Madrid, and Festival Manga Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. I also work on my own personal projects and take on commissions for private clients.
